Find out what my top 25 favorite K-Pop songs are, here! (from left to right: Rose, Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa)

It's still long before I unveil my number one pick, but hey, progress is progress! This is part two of My Top-50 K-Pop Songs blog series. Be sure to check out part one HERE!

Let's continue, shall we?

45. EXO- "What If"

I won't lie, I don't even know where my obsession with this song comes from, but if I had to take a guess it probably derives from my laughable weakness for Slow Jam music. I listen to songs depending on my mood, but, peculiarly, I can listen to "What If" whenever and no matter what I am feeling at the moment. It isn’t an outcry to say that Exo is outstanding in the vocalists department, but in this particular song their voices melt together like chocolate on a smore. “What If,” is the song I don't know I want to be listening to, until I've already started listening to it. It’s fade-out outro never satisfies me, so I go ahead and listen to it again and again. It’s an endless cycle that I never want to put an end to. It doesn't have a music video, but I hope you enjoy the song in all its glory.

44. BoA- "One Shot, Two Shot"

“Camo,” her 2017 single, came close, but it was this year’s April release that showed me why they call BoA the "queen of K-Pop." BoA has an 18 year-long career. I've always understood that she is the queen, and I've always respected it, but after listening through her songs I couldn’t find one that I was willing to add to my K-Pop playlist. Then, “One Shot, Two Shot” came along. This song’s modern sound solidified the fact that the queen isn’t hindered by the changing popular music styles in the industry. Every time I listen to the songs introduction, the synth and the effect they've added to her voice make me feel as if I’m floating, and the rest of the song transports me inside a party at a club. Although her vocals aren’t jaw-opening, they are very unique, and watching her live performances makes it evident that she can sing and dance as if she were still 20 years old. Just like Madonna will always be the queen of pop, BoA has proven she is still queen in the K-Pop industry, and she has no plans on changing that status.

43. Gugudan- "The Boots"

I might get stabbed after this, but the whistle sound in "The Boots" is even better than the one in BlackPink's "Whistle." There, I said it. Because of it, I strongly suspected that I would like the song after listening to it for just a few seconds. Then the pre-chorus hit me with Sejeongs and Haebin’s soulful vocals, and I knew that I was in for a good ride. I also appreciate that the breakdown during the bridge was done correctly, many K-pop songs fail when they try to do something like that. The best part of the song, as it should be, is the chorus. The playful drum beat and hypnotizing whistle accompany the vocals in a way that screams power, and it makes (for the first time since their debut) me look forward for Gugudan's next comeback.

42. AOA- "Heart Attack"

I used to think that AOA was cheap for selling their albums through sex-appeal. While I had only listened to bits and pieces of “Mini-Skirt” and “Like a Cat,” I thought that was enough for me to come to the conclusion that their music did not hold up to their fame. Then one day, while I was bored, I decided to actually watch their “Heart Attack” music video. Let’s just say that the song was so good, and my prior dislike of them was so huge, that I almost had a heart attack. Now, I have nothing but respect for these ladies. Yes, many might call this song "pop trash," but you've got to admit that it is catchy as hell! Although the song's main synth sounds like it was taken right out of a 2007 American pop single, "Heart Attack" does not sound outdated. None of their later comebacks (except for "Bing Bing", but we don't talk about "Bing Bing") have disappointed me, and I am still an avid fan. #ChoaiMissYou

41. Got7- "If You Do"

Let me start describing this song by sharing the following lyrics with you: “Another mistake. If you do, okay. If I do, oh.” (Be sure to turn on the subtitles on the YouTube video!) That is probably one of my favorite lyric lines in K-pop, because it describe the entire concept so simply, yet it tugs your heart strings, because many can identify with that type of situation. This song is about a guy who’s in a relationship with a girl that doesn’t really care about him and thinks it’s okay to do whatever she wants, but if he does something remotely out of her jurisdiction, then she'll threaten to end the relationship. The lyrics of the entire song are amazing, something you don’t find in many K-Pop songs #noteanoshade. This single is a mixture of R&B swagger, light, yet emotional vocals, and rap verses full of attitude. It truly is a great song, and it would have probably been higher in the list if it wasn’t for the fact that I overplayed it until I killed it for myself. Now I only listen to it on occasions. When I do, though, it always reminds me of it’s swagger and why I started being a IGot7 (how Got7 fans call themselves). Lastly, even though it's not about the song itself, the music video has some of the best acting I've seen K-Pop idols do in one of their own MVs, which makes the entire experience extra enjoyable. Also, did I mention how amazing the percussion is on this song? Just keep an ear out for it, seriously. Okay, I've typed too much about this song, just go listen to it, okay? NOW!

With that I conclude part II. Keep an eye out for part III, it'll be coming out not too long in the future!
